When you need more flexibility than standard 95A TPU but still require a printable material, Siraya Tech's TPU 85A Filament is the perfect middle ground.
Engineered for high rebound and excellent layer adhesion, this thermoplastic polyurethane offers a Shore Hardness of 85A, making it ideal for soft grips, seals, gaskets, and impact-resistant drone parts.
Unlike cheaper flexibles that clog constantly, our Flex Family formula is optimized for consistent diameter (1.75mm +/- 0.03mm) and smooth extrusion, giving you rubber-like prints that don't fall apart.
Experience True Softness With Our TPU 85A Filament For Wearables
Finding the right material for projects that touch the skin or require repetitive movement is difficult because standard flexibles are often too rigid.
We developed our TPU 85A filament specifically to offer enhanced elasticity compared to the common 95A shore hardness found elsewhere.
When you choose Siraya Tech, you are choosing a material that moves naturally with the human body and absorbs shock without cracking.
Softer Than The Standard For Real Comfort
Stop settling for stiff prints when you need genuine flexibility for your cosplay armor or custom insoles.
- Enhanced Flexibility: Our 85A shore hardness is noticeably softer than standard 95A TPU, making it the superior choice for printing wearable devices, watch bands, and ergonomic grips.
- Ideal for Wearables: Because it bends easily without resistance, it conforms to organic shapes perfectly, reducing chafing and improving the comfort of 3D printed fashion or medical aids.
- Superior Rebound: The material can be stretched and compressed repeatedly, instantly returning to its original shape without permanent deformation or stress marks.
Impact Resistance That Protects Your Gear
Softness does not mean weakness, especially when it comes to protecting expensive electronics or mechanical parts.
- Excellent Impact Resistance: This filament acts as a shock absorber, dispersing energy upon impact to protect drones, RC cars, and phone cases from hard crashes.
- Tough Durability: Despite being soft to the touch, the interlayer bonding is incredibly strong, preventing the part from delaminating or tearing under rigorous use.
- Vibration Dampening: Perfect for industrial mounts or spacers, the material naturally absorbs vibrations to reduce noise and wear on machinery.
Print Faster Without Clogs Using High Speed TPU 85A Filament
The biggest nightmare with flexible materials is the constant jamming, stringing, and impossibly slow print speeds.
We solved this by formulating a TPU 85A filament that flows smoothly and adheres reliably, allowing you to push your printer's speed limits without risking a failed print.
You no longer have to wait days for a single flexible part to finish.
Five Times Faster Than Competitors
Time is money, and waiting for flexible prints at 20mm/s is a thing of the past with our advanced formula.
- 5x High-Speed Performance: Our engineered flow rate allows you to print up to 5 times faster than comparable flexible filaments while maintaining crisp details and strong walls.
- Reliable Extrusion: We optimized the material's viscosity to prevent it from buckling in the extruder gear, a common issue known as the "noodle effect" with other soft filaments.
- Consistent Diameter: Precision manufacturing ensuring a steady flow means you get smooth layers without the under-extrusion gaps often seen in cheap flexible materials.
Ease of Printing For Every Setup
You should not need a degree in mechanical engineering just to get a flexible print to stick to the bed.
- Smoother Printing Process: Our formula is designed to reduce friction in the Bowden tube, making it compatible with a wider range of printers, not just those with expensive direct drive extruders.
- Excellent Bed Adhesion: The first layer sticks firmly to the build plate without warping, but releases cleanly once the plate cools down, saving your print surface from damage.
- User-Friendly Experience: Whether you are a beginner printing your first squishy toy or a pro making production gaskets, this material offers a forgiving window for temperature and retraction settings.
TPU 85A Print Settings Guide
Printing flexible filament requires patience. 85A is soft, so you must print slower than PLA to prevent the filament from buckling in the extruder gears.
| Setting | Recommendation |
|---|---|
| Nozzle Temp | 220°C - 240°C |
| Bed Temp | 40°C - 60°C (Use Glue Stick/Tape) |
| Print Speed | 20 - 40 mm/s (Go Slow!) |
| Retraction | Disable or keep very low (0.5mm - 1mm) |

FAQs About TPU 85A Filament
Is TPU 85A softer than 95A?
Yes, significantly softer. The Shore hardness scale measures rigidity; lower numbers are softer. 95A is similar to a shopping cart wheel (hard rubber), while our tpu 85a filament is closer to the heel of a shoe, offering much more flexibility and "squish."
Can I print TPU 85A on a Bowden extruder?
While direct drive extruders are generally recommended for flexibles, our tpu 85a filament is formulated for ease of printing. With a well-tuned Bowden setup (slow speeds, no retraction, and a tight filament path), many users achieve excellent results, though a direct drive will allow for the fastest speeds.
Do I need a heated bed for this filament?
Yes, a heated bed helps significantly with adhesion. We generally recommend a bed temperature between 40°C and 60°C. For the best results, ensure your bed is level and clean, or use a release agent if printing on PEI to prevent it from sticking too well.
How do I stop TPU from stringing?
Stringing is common with flexibles due to moisture and pressure. First, ensure your TPU 85A filament is dry (TPU absorbs moisture quickly). Second, enable "combing" mode in your slicer to keep the nozzle within the print, and optimize your retraction settings (usually lower distance and speed compared to PLA).
