Sovol SV08 filament needs to keep up with a printer built for speed: a 350x350x345mm bed, a dual-gear direct drive extruder, and print speeds up to 700mm/s. Most filament sold for "SV08" online is actually written for the larger SV08 Max, a different machine. Siraya Tech stocks PLA, PETG, PETG-CF, and TPU formulated for the standard SV08's real specs.
What Works on the Standard SV08
The standard Sovol SV08, not the Max, has a 350x350x345mm build volume, a hotend rated to 300C, a bed rated to 100C, and a 0.4mm nozzle with 0.2/0.6/0.8mm sizes available. Sovol officially supports PLA, PETG, TPU, PETG-CF, and ABS. The frame is open by default, with an optional enclosure sold separately for ABS and other heat sensitive prints.
- PLA and PETG print well at the SV08's default speeds with no changes needed
- PETG-CF needs a hardened steel nozzle before printing
- TPU benefits from the dual-gear direct drive extruder already built into the SV08
- ABS prints best with the optional enclosure installed

Why High Speed Filament Matters Here
The SV08's 700mm/s top speed and Klipper firmware are only useful if the filament can flow fast enough to keep up. Standard PLA and PETG can struggle to melt and extrude quickly enough at very high speeds, leading to under extrusion. High flow formulations are built specifically to keep pace with printers like the SV08 without sacrificing layer adhesion, which matters more here than on a printer with a lower speed ceiling.
